An inspector posted at Lucknow High Court security committed suicide by hanging himself on Saturday. The family had gone to Ayodhya to attend the wedding. On returning from there the body was found hanging from the fan. The police have conducted post-mortem and handed over the dead body to the relatives.

Inspector Than Singh Chauhan (58), originally a resident of Malavan Sonhar of Etah, lived with his family in Triveninagar III. He was promoted two years ago. He was posted at Asiwan police station in Unnao. Was attached to Lucknow High Court Security for some time.
Son Vikas told that he along with mother Rekha and family had gone to Ayodhya to attend the wedding of his maternal uncle’s son. Returned to Lucknow from Ayodhya at around 7 am on Saturday morning. The door did not open even after calling several times. Hearing the sound, sister-in-law came down from the second floor and found Than Singh hanging from the fan hook in the verandah on the ground floor. Seeing him hanging from the noose, she screamed.
They quickly brought him down from the noose and took him to the hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead. There are four sons and two daughters in the family. After the death of his first wife, he married for the second time. Inspector Aliganj Vinod Tiwari said that the reason for suicide could not be clarified. The family members have not made any allegations against anyone yet. Further action will be taken on the basis of the complaint.
