‘I Know How To Break Chakravyuh’: Fadnavis Says He’s ‘Modern-Day Abhimanyu’ – News18

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said his contribution to the BJP-led Mahayuti’s victory was small and it was the overall victory of a team

Crediting the BJP-led Mahayuti’s sweeping victory in the Maharashtra assembly election to a “team”, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis equated himself to a “modern Abhimanyu” who knows how to “break the chakravyuh”.

“I had said earlier that I am a modern Abhimanyu and know how to break the ‘Chakravyuh’… I think, my contribution in this victory is small, it is the victory of our team,” he told reporters.

Fadnavis was making a reference to the mythological character of Abhimanyu in the Mahabharata. The son of Arjuna and Subhadra, he knew how to enter the ‘chakravyuh’, a military formation with a complicated exit.

According to the epic tale, only a few warriors knew the technique to enter the formation and he claimed to have learnt it from his father Arjuna, when he was in his mother’s womb. Unfortunately for him, he did not listen to the part about the exit as his mother fell asleep. During the battle of Kurukshetra, he was killed by the Kauravas when he tried to exit the formation.

Later in a post on X, he thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his support and said this was a step towards fulfilling the dream of a ‘Viksit Maharashtra. “With Hon Modi Ji’s Vision, moving forward to fulfill the dream of a Viksit Maharashtra! The unwavering support and trust of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji have made us win. The vision for a prosperous and developed future of Maharashtra is now set to move forward with full momentum. Thank you, Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, this is not just MahaYuti’s win but a victory for the continued progress of Maharashtra!” he wrote.
