Maharashtra Election Results 2024: NCP leader Ajit Pawar said that “Ladki Bahin” scheme proved to be a gamechanger for “Mahayuti” in the election.  

The Mahayuti is heading towards a landslide victory in Maharashtra, sweeping two-thirds seats in the assembly election. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde took a veiled jibe at Uddhav Thackeray and said a government can’t work via Facebook.

Addressing a joint press conference of Mahayuti along with Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar in Mumbai, Shinde said the people have decided to whom Shiv Sena and NCP belongs.

“The CM is a common man, and which is why I would go amidst common man and work. Government can’t work via Facebook. Balasaheb used to say that a karyakarta should go and work amidst people. That’s what we did,” Shinde said.

“Today is a historic day in itself. We have seen so many elections, but this is landslide victory. In the last 2.5 years, whatever work we have done in the state, the decisions have been something that have never happened before and will never happen again,” Shinde said.

Shinde said that his government removed obstacles in crucial projects like coastal road, Atal Setu and Mumbai Metro which were halted by the MVA. “Our only agenda was to work for the development of people. And to complete the work that was halted by MVA,” he said.

The CM also touched upon why the Mahayuti lost the Lok Sabha battle to the MVA in Maharashtra and said that the opposition created a fake narrative saying “constitution is in danger”. “But despite that PM face was Narendra Modi. They did the same thing again, but people gave them mandate and have accepted government of development,” he said.

NCP leader Ajit Pawar said that “Ladki Bahin” scheme proved to be a gamechanger for “Mahayuti” in the election.

“When Lok Sabha election results were announced, we worked hard to work on it. We announced schemes. . Ladki Bahin is the game changer. It was an under current. We were blamed earlier for our work. No one ever got this kind of mandate in Maharashtra before. We will now stay grounded and work towards it. I was emotional when I saw the figures. We will need to work hard for this. We have central government supporting us,”

Slammed the opposition over Sanjay Raut’s ballot paper voting, Pawar said, “Opposition is saying that there should be ballot paper. But, if things work for you, it is alright. Otherwise one wants ballot paper.”

“Did we not lose Jharkhand? We have gotten a clear mandate in some of the big seats, including Vidharba. Questioning some fake news floating around. We’ll we can’t be more thankful to voters. We will work in their debt and work for them in the next 5 years”

Fadnavis said, “I bow down to our voters. This is the confidence that people have exuded on PM Modi. We will work to live for the confidence that they have instilled in us.”
