59-year-old guard Ram Achal died after being hit by an unknown vehicle on Saturday morning in front of Raina Paper Mill on the National Highway in Maghar, Sant Kabirnagar. Ram Achal, a resident of village Banauli of Sahjanwa, was coming for duty on a stationary bicycle, when the accident happened.

The mill workers and local people present on the spot took the injured to the district hospital in an ambulance, where doctors declared him dead. The police reached the spot after receiving the information and took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem.
Outpost in-charge Manish Jaiswal said that on receiving complaint from family members, action will be taken by registering a case against the unknown vehicle and driver.
