On Sunday evening, a drunken tractor driver crushed a farmer walking on foot in Madhogarh area of ​​Jalaun district, due to which he died on the spot. After the incident, the villagers got angry and blocked the Madhaugarh-Harauli road.

Farmer died on the spot, driver absconding

The incident took place in Laxmanpura locality of Madhaugarh Kotwali area. 40-year-old farmer Brijendra Singh, resident of Harauli village, had gone to Madhaugarh for some work on Sunday afternoon. At around 5 pm, when he was returning home on foot, the driver of a tractor laden with soil, who was under the influence of alcohol, crushed him. After the accident, the driver left the tractor and ran away.

Villagers blocked the road

As soon as information about the incident was received, about 100 villagers from Harauli village reached the spot and blocked the road. They allege that tractor-trolleys laden with soil run at high speed on this route throughout the day, due to which accidents keep happening every day. Despite this the administration did not take any action.

Police try to convince, jam continues

Madhaugarh Kotwali in-charge Pappu Singh reached the spot and tried to convince the villagers. But the angry villagers clearly said that they will not open the jam until the Superintendent of Police arrives at the spot.

Information to the family, body sent for postmortem

The police took possession of the dead body and sent it for postmortem and informed the family about the incident. At the same time, the police is continuously talking to the villagers to clear the jam.

Villagers demand: Ban on high speed tractors

The villagers have demanded that the driver responsible for the accident should be arrested and strict action should be taken against the movement of tractor-trolleys laden with soil on this route. Police say that strict action will be taken against the culprit.
