Demand for permission from police for demonstration

According to Tauqeer Raza’s media in-charge Munir Idrisi, he had sought permission from the Delhi Police to protest at Ramlila Maidan on November 24 over the insult to Rasool’s honour, which was canceled by the police.

Delhi march’s appeal has no effect

Tauqeer Raza had appealed to Muslims across the country to march to Delhi on 24 November. However, his call was not very effective and the normal routine continued in other places including Bareilly. There was silence outside Tauqeer Raza’s house too, and people avoided commenting on the subject, saying that he had not gone to Delhi.

Released after being taken into police custody

As soon as Tauqeer Raza moved towards Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, the police took him into custody. He was released after being detained for some time. Tauqeer Raza said that the winter session of Parliament is going to start from November 25, and he had organized this protest to demand a law against blasphemy in this session.
