Govinda is set to return to Kapil Sharma’s show this week. In a promo from the episode, Govinda opened up about accidentally shooting himself in the leg.
Bollywood actor Govinda is set to make his first on-camera appearance on Kapil Sharma’s show, The Great Indian Kapil Show after he accidentally shot himself. In the promo released by Netflix as part of Saturday’s episode, Govinda shed light on the aftermath of the accident. Although it is expected that Govinda will delve in detail into the incident during the show, in the promo Govinda revealed Shilpa Shetty’s reaction to the accident.
Seated beside his nephew, actor Krushna Abhishek and Chunky Panday, Govinda told Kapil that Shilpa visited him after he was shot. “When Shilpa came to meet me, she first asked me, ‘ChiChi, how did you hurt yourself? Where was Sunita?’ I told her, ‘Sunita was out, she was visiting a temple,'” Govinda shared.
He then revealed Shilpa teased him and his wife. “She then asked, ‘Who shot you then?’ (laughs)” he shared.
For the unversed, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg on October 1. He was rushed to the hospital in Mumbai and was treated there for a few days. After he was discharged, he met with the press and shared insights into the accidenta.
“Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened,” he said. “Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua? (It is a deep wound, and I couldn’t believe it had happened. I thought, ‘What just occurred?’),” he recalled.
The actor shared that he was alone at the time of the incident, which took place early in the morning between 4:45-5:00 am as he was getting ready to travel to Kolkata. “I was preparing to leave for the show… for Kolkata. It was around 4:45-5:00 am. Woh giri aur chal padi (the revolver fell and misfired). I felt a jhatka (I was shocked) and then saw… there was a fountain (of blood),” he added.
Govinda was photographed leaving the hospital on a wheelchair. However, earlier this week, he confirmed he was better now by stepping out to cast his vote. The actor walked to the polling booth to cast his vote as part of the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 without the support of a wheelchair or crunches.
