Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 Week 7: Vijay Sethupathi Grills Contestants As House Gets A Major Revamp – News18
Last Updated:
Varshini was evicted from the house with no drama, while Sachana became the highlight of the week for her personal grudge against Jeffry.
There is one constant theme in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8, and that’s Vijay Sethupathi’s dissatisfaction with the contestant, who continues to play it safe. Perhaps, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 is one of the few seasons, where the house hasn’t seen any ugly fights even after 50 days. It is because the contestants play it safe by holding back punches during conflict and while criticizing their fellow contestants. Despite Vijay Sethupathi warning the contestants to play the game with boldness, the housemates continue to be diplomatic rendering the show conflictless. This week’s highlight turned out to be actress Sacahana breaking down and sobbing on the weekend episode when Sethupathi and other contestants came down heavily on her for showing personal vengeance against Jeffry.
Weekly Task:
Last week, Bigg Boss house was turned into two kingdoms with Raanav ruling the Boys’ side and Sachana ruling the girls. Deepak and Raayan were chosen to be the chief commanders and royal priests of the boys’ gang respectively. At the same time, Manjari and Pavithra Janani were selected as commanders and royal priests of the girls. Spies were also chosen by the teams, but with no real mission and guidance from Bigg Boss, the house turned chaotic. With no real task, the boys started stealing stuff from the queen, which resulted in a war of words that led to nowhere. The guys won the free eviction pass for the week. They took down girls in almost all the tasks, except for one. Meanwhile, Priyanka and Deepak were elected as the week’s best contestants. The two competed for week 8 captaincy and Deepak grabbed it by winning the game.
Manjari’s Confusion:
Last week, Manjari won the captaincy, but throughout the week she failed to make a mark as she was also the chief commander of girls. She was confused about her role and didn’t know when to act as a commander and when to be the captain. Her incompetence was called out by Sethuapthi on the weekend who blamed her for not using her power to set her own rules in the house. Manjari, a Tamil speaker and Muthukumaran’s friend was expected to give tough competition to him, but she has yet to become as popular as Muthu among the audience.
Sachana’s Grudge:
Sachana as Queen Sachama Devi continued to be juvenile and petty while punishing the miscreants. She was also overshadowed by her commander and royal priest, who didn’t let her speak out during tasks. The same can be said about Raanav, who failed to leave a mark as a king. Both squandered the opportunity as the task provided them with immense power. However, Sachana became the highlight of the week for the gruelling punishment she gave to Jeffry. The gana singer was punished for crossing the border, and he was asked to do 100 Indian squats, which left him in pain throughout the week. Sachana admitted to him that she gave the punishment on purpose. She was criticised by everyone in the house for her act, and the young actress broke down during the weekend episode.
Eviction:
Actor Varshini, one of the wildcard contestants, was evicted from the house. It was one of the dramatic evictions in the house, as Varshini walked out without tears. Vijay Sethupathi remarked after Sunitha, that Varshini has taken the elimination in good spirits. Her elimination also didn’t bring any surprise as she remained a reluctant player throughout her time in the house.
Removal of borders:
The line that separated the girls’ side and the boys’ in the house was removed by the end of the weekend episode, which ends the gender-based segregation. From now on, there are no teams in the house, which breaks the allegiance which has been shaping the house till now. In the coming weeks, new gangs will be formed and this time it will be based on personal choice and not gender. All the contestants agreed the game is going to become more interesting from now on as things have become more individualistic with no teams in place.
