While checking near the canal culvert of Sarai Alam, the police got information that some miscreants were hiding in the mango orchard with stolen animals. When the police reached the spot and tried to catch the miscreants, the miscreants started firing at the police. In retaliation, a criminal named Subhan s/o Babu Qureshi was arrested after he was shot in the leg.

Three accomplices of the injured criminal – Sadak son of Shamim, Wasim alias Chichi son of Abdul Sami and Bhola son of Shamim took advantage of the opportunity and escaped. Police teams are continuously raiding in search of them. Nangal police station in-charge Inspector Rakesh Kumar said that the arrested accused Subhan is a history-sheeter and has more than one and a half dozen criminal cases registered against him. The injured criminal has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Police have also recovered stolen animals.
