On the occasion, the people of the Buddhist community along with demanding the government to make changes in the Buddhist Gaya Temple Act-1949 also said that this Act is flawed and discriminatory for the Buddhists.
In Bareilly, under the banner of Indian Buddhist Sabha and Indian Buddhist Philosophy Society, a large number of Buddhist people reached Bareilly Collectorate in support of their demands. These people protested and submitted a memorandum addressed to His Excellency the Governor and CM Yogi and signed the Buddhist Gaya Temple Act.

On this occasion, the people of the Buddhist community along with demanding the government to make changes in the Buddhist Gaya Temple Act-1949, also said that this Act is flawed and discriminatory for the Buddhists. He wants this change regarding this Act. He demanded that point no. (a) of the Act should not be called the Boudh Gaya Temple Act 1949 and should be called “Mahbodhi Mahabihar Boudh Gaya Act 1949”. Also, the word “Temple” written in provision no. 2(a) should be written as “Mahabodhi Mahabihar” and changes should also be made in its provisions (b) and (c).
Under the banner of Indian Buddhist Sabha and Indian Buddhist Philosophy Society, a large number of Buddhist people reached Bareilly Collectorate in support of their demands.
Whereas in provision number 3 (b) there is a provision of four Hindu members and four Buddhist members among the eight members of the committee, which shows discrimination against Buddhists, in this all eight members of the committee should be Buddhists. Also provisions of Act No. 4, 5, 6.9. The word temple should be written in provisions 7,8,9,10 and further. Apart from this, ‘Buddhist’ should be written in place of the words Mahabodhi, Mahabihar and Hindu. On this occasion, the people of Buddhist community also demanded that the management of religious places of Islam, Hindu and Christianity in India should be in the hands of the committee of the same religion. But by amending the provisions of the Management Committee of Boudhgaya Mahabihar, the main holy place of Buddhists in India, the management of the Management Committee of Boudhgaya Mahabihar was handed over to the Buddhists. Go.
On this occasion, Surendra Sonkar, Thakur Das Premi, Lala Ram, Ramsevak Prajapati, Satya Narayan, Deen Dayal Gautam, Kapil Ratna etc. were present.
