The administration has become strict to stop the incidents of stubble burning in Maharajganj. Taking major action, Deputy Agriculture Director Virendra Kumar Singh has deprived 586 farmers of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana with immediate effect.

Apart from this, the process of depriving these farmers of other schemes and facilities of the Agriculture Department has also been started. According to officials, these farmers will also be deprived of facilities like ration cards and fertilizers and seeds available on subsidy. The administration has intensified preparations in this regard.

As per the intention of the government and the instructions of the court, farmers are being repeatedly instructed not to burn stubble. Along with this, various programs are also organized by the Agriculture Department in this regard.

The purpose of which is that the stubble should not be burnt. Rather, by managing it, along with increasing the fertility of the soil, it can also generate income. But despite this many farmers are not following the instructions.

Farmers fined for extinguishing field fire

In such a situation, this step has been taken keeping in mind the environment and public interest. The administration has also made it clear that strict action will continue along with running awareness campaigns to stop incidents of stubble burning.

The Agriculture Department has appealed to the farmers to adopt alternative methods for stubble management. Officers reached the fields to investigate. On Monday, in-charge Deputy Agriculture Director Virendra Kumar, District Agriculture Defense Officer Himanchal Sonkar visited Sadar, Farenda, Nautanwa and Nichlaul areas and investigated the cases of arson. In-charge Deputy Agriculture Director Virendra Kumar imposed a fine on the farmer while extinguishing the fire in the field in Karauta village.

In-charge Deputy Agriculture Director Virendra Kumar Singh said that in view of the increasing incidents of stubble burning, action has been taken against a total of 586 farmers identified so far and their Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi has been stopped. The remaining farmers have also been warned not to burn stubble, otherwise strict action will be taken against them.
