There is an allegation of rigging in the seed distribution center in Barabanki.
Farmers showed huge anger on Tuesday at the Farmers Welfare Center located in Loniktra area of Barabanki district. Farmers allege that the center in-charge is charging Rs 180 per bag more than the fixed rate. Wheat seeds were not given to the protesting farmers

Farmers say that the center in-charge is distributing seeds arbitrarily, giving priority to people known to him. Farmers standing in line since morning did not get seeds till afternoon. During this, angry farmers created a ruckus at the centre.
During the uproar, someone made a video of it, which has now come to light. After the matter escalated, Deputy Agriculture Director Shravan said that an investigation will be conducted into the over-recovery from farmers. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against the center in-charge.
Demand for return of extra money Farmers have demanded that the amount from whom extra money has been collected should be returned immediately. Also, the center in-charge should be removed with immediate effect. After the uproar, the Deputy Agriculture Director has given instructions to improve the system at the centre. However, till now the farmers have not received their extra recovered amount back.
