In the year 2003, when we finished the Human Genome Sequencing Project, there was hope that everything about humans would be known. But that was not the end of the project but the beginning. Today, even after sequencing millions of genomes, many things remain unknown about humans.

Two decades of progress in interpreting human genome sequencing
He told that for the analysis of any genome, a reference genome is required, for human reference the National Human Genome Research Institute is making a pan reference genome, through which it will be easier to understand any new human genome.
“We are still in the early stages of personalized medicine. Although there are millions of letters in our DNA, we do not know how they are involved in genome function, but in the first two decades we have been sequencing the human genome to make it available for study. “We have gone a long way in explaining it.”

‘Inbix-Adnet 2024’ will be organized from 28th November at Mahamana Seminar Complex of BHU. More than three hundred scientists from the world will participate in the program organized by Bioclus, the largest society of bioinformatics in the Indian subcontinent, and Adnet, founded by Dr. Lalji Singh. He told that among the eminent scientists, Director of Roslin Institute UK, Prof. Bruce Whitelaw, ancient DNA professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Ian Matthiessen, Dr. Irene Gallego Romero, a scientist working on Denisovan humans from Australia, and Professor George VanDriem, a linguist at the University of Bern, are the leaders. There will also be a gathering of 56 distinguished scientists from 50 universities and scientific institutes of India. There will also be a special lecture by journalist and historian Surinder Kochhar, who discovered Ajnala.
