The incident took place at the bus stand of village Bangra of Madhaugarh Kotwali area. Kanij’s son Shashi, resident of Bangra village, had opened a watch shop at Bangra bus stand. On Wednesday evening, Kanij closed his shop at around 6 o’clock and went home. After that suddenly smoke started rising in the shop. Within no time the smoke turned into fire. Due to which the shop started burning. Seeing this, the nearby shopkeepers got scared. Who informed Kaneez about this incident. Also tried to extinguish the fire with the help of nearby people. But the flames increased rapidly. After which the fire brigade personnel were informed.
The shop owner reached the spot and along with the shopkeepers brought the fire under control. But by then the watch worth more than Rs 2 lakh kept in the shop was burnt to ashes. When the fire was extinguished by the local people. Then the fire brigade arrived. But by then the shop was completely burnt to ashes. The shop owner said that the fire broke out due to short circuit. In which his watches worth two lakhs were kept inside the shop. Which has been burnt to ashes.
