Assets worth Rs 7.07 crore of Ani Bullion Company, which defrauded thousands of investors to the tune of Rs 600 crore, were seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday. The investigating agency has taken possession of 20 plots and buildings of the company in Delhi, Lucknow and Amethi. In the year 2019, ED had registered a case against Ani Bullion under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. Earlier, the police had registered more than a hundred cases against the company in many districts including Ayodhya and Lucknow. Company leader Ajit Kumar Gupta was arrested by STF from Lucknow in July 2020.
