Before Urvil, the record of fastest century was in the name of Pant.

Gujarat’s wicketkeeper batsman Urvil Patel has become the batsman to score the fastest century in T20. He scored a century in just 28 balls against Tripura in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Before Urvil, this record was in the name of Pant, who had scored a century in 32 balls against Himachal Pradesh in the same tournament in 2018.

Urvil hit 12 sixes and 7 fours in his innings. Batting first, Tripura scored 155 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat won by scoring 156 runs for two wickets in just 10.2 overs. Urvil from the team scored unbeaten 113 runs on 35 balls and led the team to victory by 8 wickets. He made a partnership of 150 runs with Aryan Desai for the first wicket.

Indian who scored the fastest century in T20 cricket

With this century, Urvil has become the batsman to score the fastest century for India in T20 cricket. He has broken Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant’s record of century in 32 balls. At number three in this list is Rohit Sharma, who scored a century in 35 balls against Sri Lanka in 2021.

Second batsman to score the fastest century

Urvil has become the second batsman in the world to score the fastest century in T20 cricket. Ahead of him is only Sahil Chauhan of Estonia who scored a century in 27 balls against Cyprus. At number three is Chris Gayle of West Indies, who scored a century in 30 balls while playing for RCB against Pune Warriors in the IPL-2013 season.

Remained unsold in mega auction

Urvil was not sold in the recent IPL-2025 mega auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and he was not bought by any team. He was bought by Gujarat Titans in the 2023 mini auction. Although he did not get a chance to play the match.

Urvil also has the second fastest century in List A.

Urvil had earlier scored a century in 41 balls against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on November 27 last year. Which was the second fastest century in List A cricket. Ahead of him in this list is Yusuf Pathan, who scored a century in 40 balls in 2009-10.
