In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, SP candidate Bijendra Singh has filed a petition alleging that BJP has committed dishonesty in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. He was defeated due to tampering in EVM during counting of votes. A petition was filed against this in the High Court.

Argued through video conferencing with advocates Mahmood Pracha and Umar Jamin that EVMs have been tampered. It was said that there is no certified guarantee that the current set of EVMs cannot be hacked, tampered with and fake votes cast.

After hearing the parties, the court ordered the Election Commission to preserve election related documents including videography/CCTV footage, Form 17-C and other documents. Also, the court has asked the Election Commission to file a counter affidavit within four weeks. The next hearing will be on January 27, 2025.
