Ambala-Saharanpur Express train number 04532 departs from Ambala at 12:50 pm. It reaches Saharanpur via Yamunanagar and Sarsawa at 2:40 pm. On Thursday, the power (engine) of the train failed on the down line between the railway station and Shardanagar bridge. For some time the loco pilot tried to start the train. But the train could not run. Also checked the engine.
When the engine problem was not rectified, the control room was informed and help was sought. Many officers and employees from the railway station including the Deputy Station Superintendent reached the spot. Another engine was ordered from the station. But even before the engine arrived, the engine of Saharanpur-Ambala Express got repaired.
After that the passengers were released at the railway station. However, the train was already empty before this. After the engine was repaired, the train was brought to the railway station at 3:50 pm. The second engine was sent back. The train stood at the outer for about an hour.
