Ruckus started after lathicharge on 29 October

There was lathicharge on lawyers in the District Judge’s court on 29 October. In which many senior advocates were injured. From 4th November the lawyers went on strike and started the movement. On November 25, the bar decided to end the strike. But the lawyers became angry against the bar. In which the lawyers said that our agitation will continue until our demands are met. Whatever our demands are, we will continue to carry forward our movement until they are met.

The other group has considered Shabnam Khan as the Bar President.

These are the main demands of the lawyers

The main demand of the lawyers is that we will continue to protest and agitate until District Judge Anil Kumar is removed. The lawyers had earlier put up banners demanding suspension of the District Judge with their demands. The second demand is the demand for suspension action against the policemen who resorted to lathicharge.

Demanded to return the cases registered against the lawyers, demanded proper assistance for the injured lawyers. Demanded lathicharge on the guilty policemen. These five demands were also placed in the Mahasammelan 3 days ago. The lawyers are adamant on these demands.

There was a tussle between lawyers since Monday.

Bar President Deepak Sharma and Secretary Amit Nehra want the strike to end now. A decision on this was also taken on Monday. But on Monday night itself, another group of lawyers protested. On Tuesday, hundreds of lawyers gathered outside the Bar’s office and closed the office. Now the lawyers of the other group are considering Shabnam Khan as the president without elections. In such a situation, the dispute among the lawyers has started increasing further.
