In the hearing held on November 19, the bench had heard the views of both the parties. Aspects of the case were discussed. Before that, in the hearing on October 23, Allahabad High Court had rejected the recall petition of the Muslim side in the Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah case. This decision was given by the single bench of Justice Mayank Kumar Jain. Now the court will hear all the 15 petitions together.

The High Court had decided to hear 15 cases related to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi together. The Muslim side had filed a petition against this to hear the petitions of the Hindu side separately. On October 16, Allahabad High Court had reserved its verdict in the case.

The Muslim side had said – the matter is being complicated

The hearing started in the High Court at 2 pm on October 16 and continued till 3.30 pm. The Muslim side said- These cases are not worth hearing. All cases should be heard separately. On this, it was said from the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi side that the matter is being complicated. The High Court had reserved its decision in the case.

High Court’s order on August 1 – 18 petitions will be heard together. In the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah dispute case, the single bench of the High Court on August 1 rejected the petition of the Muslim side. Justice Mayank Kumar Jain said- 18 petitions filed by the Hindu side will be heard together. In the petitions filed by the Hindu side, it has been claimed that the two and a half acre area of ​​Shahi Idgah is not a mosque. That is the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Krishna’s birthplace.

At the same time, the Muslim side had argued that space for the mosque was given under the agreement made in 1968. It is not right to call the agreement wrong after 60 years. The petitions of the Hindu side are not worth hearing. However, the High Court, after hearing the arguments of both the sides, did not accept this argument of the Muslim side.

In 2020, Ranjana Agnihotri, along with 6 other people, filed a petition. On September 25, 2020, Lucknow-based lawyer Ranjana Agnihotri, along with 6 other people, filed a petition in the civil court. In this, there was a demand to remove the Shahi Idgah Mosque from the temple premises. Ranjana has also written a book on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. He had claimed to file this case on behalf of the family of Shri Krishna Virajman.

Mahendra Singh, one of the petitioners, said in his argument that the original prison, i.e. the jail in which Lord Krishna was born, is below the construction built by the Idgah Mosque Management Committee. He says that after the excavation the true facts will be revealed to the court.

The petition was rejected after 5 days. On September 30, 2020, Additional District Judge Chhaya Sharma rejected this petition saying that Lord Krishna has innumerable devotees all over the world. If every devotee’s petition is allowed to be heard, the judicial and social system will collapse.

The District Court had said that the petitioner is neither a party nor a trustee, hence the petition is dismissed. Without any delay, a review petition was filed in this case on September 30 itself. After hearing both the sides, the court accepted the petition.

High Court transferred all the cases to itself

The case was still being heard in the lower court when on 26 May 2023, the Allahabad High Court transferred all the cases related to the Mathura dispute to itself. After hearing held on different occasions for 4 months, the order was reserved on 16 November. On December 14, 2023, the High Court gave permission to conduct a survey of Idgah. The very next day, on 15 December, the Muslim side filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court’s decision. Rejecting this petition, the Supreme Court also gave permission for the survey.
