The case of lynching of lawyer Akhilesh Shukla alias Guddu in Prayagraj has become a cause of trouble for the district administration and police. After the massacre, the police officers somehow prevented any uproar, but now the anger of the lawyers has turned into an agitation.

After the announcement of the District Advocates Association, the lawyers’ strike which started last Friday in protest against this murder is going to complete one week. This means that the lawyers of the District Court have been on strike for the last 8 days and are away from judicial work.

The hearing in the district court is stalled due to work stoppage. The lawyers have started a public meeting by setting up tents outside the court premises.
Several rounds of talks with officers failed. However, even after this, thousands of lawyers are exercising restraint and chaos is being avoided. Prayagraj District Court is among the big courts. Nearly 4 thousand cases are being heard here every day.

Now due to the 8-day strike, the hearing of approximately 18,000 cases has been postponed. Only lawyers are giving this figure. The lawyers who created protests, strikes and ruckus say that the hearing of 18,000 cases is being postponed in 8 days. The district administration is not concerned about this. The lawyers’ organization gives higher figures. Let us tell you that hearings are held in Prayagraj District Court before about 25 session judges.
Similarly, there are 18 magistrates who hear criminal cases. Similarly, there are about 27 civil magistrates where around 200 cases are seen in a day.
On Saturday, lawyers created ruckus by surrounding the gate of DM office.
Advocate Manish Khanna says that if we look at the figures, about 200 cases are heard in a day by a magistrate. More cases than this are also heard. Not a single case is being heard due to the strike. The administration should consider this.

The lawyers’ strike continues in Prayagraj against the murder of lawyer Akhilesh Shukla alias Guddu. Lawyers who are adamant on their demands are continuously abstaining from judicial work. The lawyers have started a public meeting by setting up tents in the court premises itself. Other lawyers including officials of the District Advocates Association are presenting their views. Several rounds of talks took place between union officials and police officers but the strike did not end. Gradually the anger of the lawyers is increasing. Even on Thursday, lawyers raised slogans against the district administration and police administration.
The attitude of the lawyers dissatisfied with the administrative action taken so far in the advocate Akhilesh Shukla murder case has become sharp. Lawyers say that the movement will continue until all the demands are met. Lawyers have warned that if arrests are not made immediately, the direction and condition of the movement will be forced to change. The lawyers have decided that now the public meeting will start on the road.
The lawyers have demanded that Rs 1 crore, arms license and government job should be given to the family as financial assistance. Immediate arrest of the attackers should be ensured. The arms licenses of the attackers should be canceled with immediate effect. They should be blacklisted in contracting.
There has been an uproar under the siege of DM and Commissioner’s office.
Angry lawyers have created a ruckus. On the first day of the strike, protest was expressed by burning an effigy and burning tires at the court gate. Slogans are raised daily. On Saturday, there was a huge ruckus by gheraoing the DM office. Also a memorandum has been given in the Police Commissioner’s office.
District Advocates Association has also supported the strike. Lawyers are united. He is holding meetings daily in the court premises.

Accused sent to jail
1. Nikhil Kant Singh, son of Man Singh, resident of Nariaon police station, Janhagirganj district, Ambedkar Nagar, age about 26 years.
2. Prince Singh alias Ranvijay Singh, son of Jitendra Pratap Singh, resident of Rampur Udaybhan police station Kotwali district Ballia, age 48 years.
3.Manoj Singh, son of late Baban Singh, resident of village Tilapur Jamdharwa police station Revati district Ballia.
Know when the murder took place, what were the events
On the night of 17 November, there was a fatal attack on advocate Akhilesh Shukla alias Guddu in Salori area of Prayagraj. After a dispute with the contractor of the Irrigation Department, there was a fierce fight between the two parties. After firing, people who came with the contractor in three vehicles, beat Akhilesh Shukla with rifle butt and rod so much that he became drenched in blood. After this the attackers left them. Many other people have also been injured in the fighting. The lawyer was taken to the hospital in critical condition from where he was referred to Medanta Lucknow.
After this, Akhilesh Shukla died on 21 November. Salori market was closed after the death of the lawyer. There were preparations for an uproar when the dead body arrived, but the police officers calmed down the matter by explaining. The lawyer’s body was cremated on the morning of 22 November. The District Advocates Association had announced a strike and announced a protest.
