Gaya Halder, originally a resident of West Bengal, lives with his family in a rented house in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar near Jail Chungi. He drives an e-rickshaw. Wife Deepa alias Deepali used to clean the houses. The family consists of Vikram (21), Vipul (19), Priyanka (18) and Riya (16). Both Vikram and Vipul work as labourers. At 6.30 pm on Friday, Deepa was going home after finishing the cleaning work in the houses in Mangalpande Nagar. On the way, Soni wife Amar Singh resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar was found in front of the gate of Ekta Park. After an altercation between the two, Soni attacked Deepa with a knife. Deepa tried to save her life by entering the gate of Ekta Park but was stabbed several times by Soni. Deepa died on the spot. On the information of Guard Subedar Singh, CO Civil Line Abhishek Tiwari and Medical Police reached the spot. Murder accused Soni was arrested. SP City Ayush Vikram Singh said that Soni has confessed to his crime.
