Lady Superstar Nayanthara has taken to Instagram with a cryptic post amidst the ongoing legal tussle with actor Dhanush. The post, which seems to be aimed at the current controversy, reads: “When you destroy someone’s life with lies, take it as a loan, it will come back to you with interest.” The phrase “take it as a loan” is notably underlined, digitally, in green.
This comes as Dhanush has filed a civil suit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Shivan, and Netflix against the unauthorised footage in the couple’s Netflix documentary from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan that he produced. While neither Nayanthara nor Vignesh Shivan has issued an official statement after Dhanush sued them but fans are wondering if this Instagram post is a subtle way of addressing the issue.
According to The Hindu, the lawsuit was filed in the Madras High Court and names both Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Sivan, as defendants. Wunderbar Films has filed an application with the Madras High Court requesting permission, under Clause 12 of the Letters Patent, to include Los Gatos Production Services India LLP in their lawsuit. The company, through which Netflix reports its content investments in India, is based in Mumbai. Wunderbar Films seeks to sue Los Gatos along with the other defendants within the jurisdiction of the Madras High Court. Nayanthara has reportedly been asked to respond to the suit by the next hearing.
After hearing both sides, the judge approved the application to allow the case to proceed, without commenting on the main issue. The judge noted that Nayanthara, Vignesh Sivan, and Rowdy Pictures are based in the Madras High Court’s jurisdiction, and that most of the issue happened here.
On November 16, Nayanthara lashed out at Dhanush for sending her a legal notice and demanding Rs 10 crore. On Saturday, the actress took to her Instagram handle and issued a long statement. She mentioned that during the making of her recently released Netflix documentary, ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’, she had asked for permission from Dhanush to use visuals from their 2015 movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. However, Dhanush refused to grant her permission and instead sent her a legal notice for using behind-the-scenes visuals from the sets of the movie.
