Comedian Nick Cannon has opened up on his battle with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). The Masked Singer host admitted to suffering from the medical condition earlier this month. NPD is a mental health condition that is characterised by an exaggerated sense of self-importance. According to him, being open about his mental health struggles helps him to navigate his day-to-day activities. Cannon who attended the Los Angeles Mission’s Thanksgiving celebration on November 27 revealed that he has come to terms with his NPD diagnosis. It has helped him in the journey of self-discovery and improve himself for the better.
Speaking to People magazine, Nick Cannon admitted that he still does not completely understand NPD. “But I kind of always wanted to get tested for it. I did a bunch of tests,” said Cannon. The Drumline star added that he was previously diagnosed with ADHD. “Even as a kid it was dyslexia, but just knowing that I’m just a neurodivergent individual, I kind of always knew,” he said.

Cannon disclosed that he has accepted his mental health condition and the fact that he needs therapy. “To be able to say I am an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too,” he said.
On November 8, Nick Cannon opened up on his NPD diagnosis during one of the episodes of his Counsel Culture podcast. He confirmed being “clinically diagnosed” with the condition to Cheyenne Bryant — a Doctor of Psychology who attended the show. Cannon explained that he ticked off almost all of the boxes related to the disorder. However, he put his all into researching NPD and learning the details of the condition in depth. Through this, he believes to have “ taken all the power away from the term narcissism.”
On the personal front, Nick Cannon shares twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He is also a proud father to sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell. The TV personality is a dad to twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa as well.
