157A Special Crossing is located at the eastern end of the Cantonment Railway Station yard. On the other side of the crossing there are more than half a dozen colonies including Nandanagar, Air Force. This road also connects Padri Bazaar Pipraich Road through various localities. Due to the movement of trains, railway crossings remain closed for long periods, due to which people have to face problems. After the ROB is changed, people will be able to move here easily. They won’t have to stop.

Overbridge will be 674 meters long

The rail overbridge to be built at the railway crossing will be 674 meters long. Its width will be 17 meters. This bridge will be of two lanes. The Railways will build this bridge on its part while the Bridge Corporation will be responsible for building the link roads on both its sides. After getting approval from the Railway Board, the exercise has started.

Trains of two routes pass through

There is a heavy load of trains at this crossing at the eastern end of Cantonment Railway Station. Trains going from Gorakhpur to Bihar, West Bengal pass through two routes. The first route goes via Deoria and the second via Narkatiaganj. Trains going via Padrauna also pass through this crossing. Only after this crossing both the routes separate. In such a situation, there is movement of trains from morning till night. Sometimes crossing of more than one train is done.

Office and school goers face problems

This railway crossing creates problems for people going to office in the morning or children going to school. When the crossing is closed, people either have to violate the rules or get late. With the formation of ROB, this problem of the people will be solved.

Efforts to make second entry intensified

The effort to make a second entry at Cantt station has intensified. 7790 square meters of army land has been made available as per the terms and conditions. With the construction of second entry, traffic at Cantt station will become easier. Due to closure of railway crossing, passengers will not miss the train.

Plan to build a road along the banks of Ramgarh Tal

There is also a plan by the Railway Administration to build a road on the banks of Ramgarhtal. Possibilities for this are being explored. There is some army land west of the station. The road built on it passes through the banks of Ramgarhtal and reaches near the culvert on the Gorakhpur-Deoria main road. If this land is also available then the path of the people will become easier. They will leave from Cantt station and reach Mohaddipur directly.

Railways says this

Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, said that ROB has been approved by the Railway Board. The process of completing the formalities before construction has started. Construction work will start soon. This will provide a lot of relief to the people.
