Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan recently held a grand party in Mumbai to celebrate the success of their Prime Video series, Citadel: Honey Bunny. The bash, held at Virat Kohli’s restaurant One8 Commune, was a star-studded event and was attended by several celebrities including Avneet Kaur, Nimrat Kaur, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Gulshan Devaiah among others.
While several videos and photos from the celebration are going viral on social media, a new video shows Samantha dancing her heart out with Varun Dhawan. The two can be seen grooving to Dhawan’s recently released song ‘Nain Matakka’ from his upcoming movie Baby John. The original music video features Varun with Keerthy Suresh.
Meanwhile, Samantha also took to her Instagram handle recently to share moments from the Citadel success party. In one video, Varun was seen feeding cake to Samantha. In another photo, the two stars were seen posing together. “A beautiful evening spent with the loveliest people, my heart overflowing with gratitude,” Samantha wrote in the caption.
Both, Samantha and Varun have been receiving praises from critics for their performances in Citadel: Honey Bunny. However, the actress has been candid about the challenges she faced while working on the series, particularly after being diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disorder that weakens muscles. In an interview with Galatta India, she revealed that at one point, she requested the directors, Raj and DK, to replace her due to her health struggles.
“I was absolutely fine when I got the opportunity to play Honey. I was overjoyed. But a few months later, I was the same person who requested Raj and DK to please choose another heroine to play Honey,” Samantha shared. She even suggested other actresses like Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon, believing they would be better suited for the action-packed role. However, Raj and DK reassured her, saying, “Yeah, we know them, you don’t have to introduce us.”
