In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old nurse working at a primary health centre in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly gang-raped and assaulted by four men. The incident occurred while she was commuting to work on her scooter. The accused allegedly subjected her to a horrific gang-rape and torture.
According to the victim, she was waylaid near Musmaria turn, adjacent to Suhakhar Kheda, in a secluded area and assaulted. Four men allegedly held her down while two others raped her. They also allegedly inserted a stick and chilli powder into her private parts. The victim was found unconscious and rushed to a local hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
The police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the matter. Two suspects have been detained and are being interrogated.
However, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Verma said that the victim was having an illicit relationship with a man, whose family members beat her up.
The incident sparked outrage and protests, with many demanding justice for the victim and stricter laws to prevent such crimes.
