WPL Mini Auction on December 15 in Bengaluru: 19 slots vacant in 5 teams, budget of ₹16.7 crore; Gujarat’s biggest purse

There have been 2 seasons of WPL. Mumbai Indians won the first season and Royal Challengers Bangalore won the second season.
The mini auction of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will take place on December 15 in Bengaluru. BCCI has informed all the five franchise teams about the auction. There are vacancies for 19 players in 5 teams, out of which 14 Indian and 5 foreign players will be bought.
5 teams have a purse of Rs 16.7 crore, Gujarat Giants will take home the highest purse of Rs 4.40 crore. The third season of WPL will start in January or February next year.
Purse limit Rs 15 crore A team has a purse limit of Rs 15 crore. After player retention, the purse of the teams has been cut. Delhi is left with a purse of Rs 2.50 crore and Mumbai has only Rs 2.65 crore. Bengaluru has a purse of Rs 3.25 crore and UP has a purse of Rs 3.90 crore. Gujarat team will enter the auction with the biggest purse.
6 big players will enter the auction The most surprising decision in retention was taken by Mumbai and Gujarat. MI released English all-rounder Isabelle Wong and GG released Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana. Both the players will enter the auction. Apart from them, the names of Heather Knight, Catherine Bryce, Laura Harris and Lauren Bell will also come in the auction.
Which team retained how many players? There is space for 18 players in a squad. Except UP, all the teams retained 14-14 players. While UP retained 15 players. That means, only 3 players are vacant in UP and 4 players each in other teams. RCB is the defending champion of the tournament. Mumbai had won the title of the first season.
