Cleanliness of wards will be tested in different categories In the competition started regarding cleanliness among the wards, the cleanliness system of the wards will be tested in different categories. In this, along with cleanliness, they will be judged as the best among the best on the basis of categories like door to door garbage collection work, wall painting, ward beautification, plantation, civic participation, regular cleaning of toilets etc. The competition will be organized till December 5 on the instructions of State Mission Director Swachh Bharat Mission Urban. The ward selected in the competition will be honored in the month of December. During this, the Mayor told that in view of Mahakumbh, the Clean Ward Competition is an important experiment. Before this, information about Swachh Ward Competition was given point wise through video presentation. The terms and conditions of the Swachh Ward competition were also explained. At the beginning of the competition, the councilors presented their views and the Mayor administered the oath to them committing themselves towards cleanliness. During this, Additional Municipal Commissioner Ambrish Bind, Chief Tax Assessment Officer PK Dwivedi, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Deep Shikha Pandey, Zonal Officer etc. were present.
The aim is also to improve the cleanliness ranking of the country. This exercise is also considered necessary considering the position of Prayagraj in the cleanliness survey ranking regarding urban cleanliness in the country. Prayagraj was ranked second in the Clean Ganga City category in the Cleanliness Survey 2023. While Varanasi got the first place. This competition is also considered important for reaching the number one position in this category in the survey conducted by the Central Government.
