On Saturday, District Magistrate Abhishek Anand and Superintendent of Police Chakresh Mishra along with the team conducted a surprise inspection in Sitapur District Jail. During this time, the officers carefully searched other barracks including the barrack of former minister and SP leader Azam Khan, who was in jail for a long time.

Talks with prisoners and took stock of arrangements During the inspection, DM and SP went to the women’s and men’s barracks and talked directly to the prisoners. Inquiries were made about the facilities being provided in the jail. The prisoners told that they were not facing any kind of problem. Officials instructed the jail administration to ensure arrangements for blankets and bonfires for the prisoners when the cold increases.
Special attention to security and order During the inspection, all the barracks were found to be in good condition, due to which the jail administration heaved a sigh of relief. Along with DM and SP, ASP South Praveen Ranjan Singh, ASP North Prakash Kumar and other policemen were also present in this inspection.
Confirmation of safe and orderly prison operations After inspection, the officials said that the arrangements of the jail administration are currently fine. Regular inspections will continue to ensure that there is no negligence. This inspection was done on the instructions of the government.
