Before the Mahakumbh starting from January 23, sages and saints are at loggerheads over land. A few days ago, a case of fighting among saints came to light. Now the saints of Khak Chowk sat on strike accusing the fair officers of negligence.

Today, on Saturday, for the second day, these saints have announced to sit on strike in front of the fair authority office. Dozens of saints including Khak Chowk Arrangement Committee General Secretary Mahamandaleshwar Santoshdas Satua Baba are participating in the protest.
They are giving our land to the Khals.. we are being sent away.
Santoshdas said that there were never Khals behind the Akharas, rather there used to be our ‘Khak Chowk’. Our land is being given to Khals. We saints are being sent away…the fair officials are not listening to us. We will continue to sit on strike until our voice is heard and we are not given land as before. If necessary, we will also take refuge in the High Court.
