Krish Arora, 10, has an IQ of 162, which is higher than Einstein and Hawking. He plays the piano, is an ace chess player and even tutors his friends
Krish Arora, a 10-year-old British-Indian genius from Hounslow in West London, has made headlines with an IQ of 162, surpassing the likes of Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. The young prodigy is not only good at studies, he is also an ace chess player who beat his mentor after playing for only four months.
The boy shared his excitement with The Sun after being selected into Mensa – a high-IQ society. “I feel privileged to be accepted by Mensa and I’m flabbergasted to note that my IQ is higher than Einstein,” he told the UK-based newspaper.
From a young age, Krish demonstrated exceptional abilities, such as reading fluently from the age of four and being able to solve decimal divisions in a blink. His parents Mauli and Nischal said they hired him a chess teacher, whom he now regularly beats.
Talented In Studies, Talented With Piano
Along with being a human calculator, Krish is virtually able to take on any challenge and complete it in an amazingly short span of time. One of his hobbies includes playing the piano, where he achieved a Grade 7 distinction while the maximum Grade 8 is on the cards.
He was featured on the Trinity College of Music ‘hall of fame’ after finishing four grades in just six months and has won several musical competitions. He also has the rare talent of absolute pitch, which means he does not need notes to recite instrumentals and can remember entire songs using just his memory.
“Krish is like a sponge — he takes in everything. He excels at absolutely everything he does,” said his mom Mauli. In his spare time, Krish helps out his friends with their studies. In fact, his teacher has also allocated him students to teach in certain classes, particularly maths.
Challenges Of Raising A High-IQ Kid
Krish is now starting a new journey at Queen Elizabeth’s School, one of the UK’s top schools, after “blowing the doors” of his 11-plus exams, where he scored a monumental 100% in maths – completing 60 questions in just 50 minutes. Apparently, the boy prodigy found 11-plus exams “too easy”.
“Primary school is boring, I don’t learn anything. All we do is multiplication and writing sentences all day. I like to do algebra,” he told the UK-based Metro, adding that he is looking forward to starting at his new school, which might be more of a challenge.
His parents spoke about the challenges of raising a high-IQ kid. “The older he gets, the more we’re struggling to keep up with him. It’s a challenge for us, but also a pleasure. He’s always asking questions, but then it’s a pure pleasure because when you see a child so young doing things so brilliantly, you realize it’s a gift.” said Mauli.
He and his parents hope that one day he can be a mathematician. He has a twin sister Keira, who has also been accepted into four grammar schools. In his free time, Krish enjoys solving puzzles and crosswords and enjoys the TV show Young Sheldon.
