The troubles of former Press Club General Secretary Kushagra Pandey, who was jailed in the case of encroaching a part of the house of Ashok Kumar Mehrotra, owner of Meghdoot Hotel in Kanpur, have increased. In the report lodged by advocate Meenakshi Shukla at Najiraba police station,

Advocate Meenakshi Dixit had filed a report against Avnish Dixit, Kushagra Pandey and Advocate Amit Sharma at Nazirabad police station. In this case, the police have not been able to take remand against Kushagra till now. Kushagra’s lawyer Advocate Shivakant Dixit said that Nazirabad Police has increased Section 387 in the case.
The advocate said that the police have filed documents in the court in this case. However all streams have space for seven years or less. For this reason no arrest is made. Further action will be taken as per the order given by the court to the police.
What is section 387
Putting or attempting to put a person in fear of death or grievous hurt to that person or another in order to commit extortion. There is a provision of seven years’ imprisonment which can also be extended.
