A case of extorting Rs 81,600 from a girl living in Krishna Nagar police station area of Lucknow has come to light by online blackmailing. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case and started investigation.

According to Krishna Nagar police station in-charge PK Singh, Khushi Kushwaha, originally a resident of Jalaun district, currently lives in Ramgarh Colony, Krishna Nagar. On November 11, an unknown caller called Khushi and started blackmailing her, claiming to have her personal documents and photographs.

The caller threatened to kill the victim while asking her to stay alone and demanded money. Due to fear, Khushi sent Rs 21,600, 40,000 and 20,000 to different UPI numbers.
Felt cheated when phone was switched off
Realizing the fraud, Khushi tried to call the caller, but his number kept getting switched off. After this the victim lodged a complaint in cyber cell and Krishna Nagar police station.
Police registered a case
On Sunday, the police registered a case under the Threatening and IT Act on the complaint of the victim. The station in-charge said that the investigation of the case is going on and the accused will be caught soon.
