GI registration of Mentha of Rampur will pave the way for the mentha production of farmers of the district to get global recognition. At present, India is the leading producer of mentha after China. GI registration will create immense potential for export of Mentha from Rampur. As a result, the income of farmers will increase more than expected.
GI registration will introduce the production process and quality of Mentha of Rampur to Europe, America and eastern countries like Korea and Japan. With this, FPO/FPC will be able to export mentha from Rampur with less effort. This registration will prove to be an important step towards economic growth in the agricultural sector of the district. This will open doors to new opportunities for farmers.
