In a village of Kachhauna Kotwali area of Hardoi, the dream of marriage was shattered when the groom, instead of bringing the wedding procession, eloped with his girlfriend from his own village. The bride and her family waited for the wedding procession all night, but the next morning they came to know about the groom’s misdeeds.

The aggrieved party reached the police station and pleaded for justice. The bride’s father told that the daughter’s marriage was fixed with Saroj, son of Radhelal, resident of village Qutubpur of Kasimpur police station area. On November 20, the Tilak ceremony was completed with great pomp, in which dowry along with a bike was given. The wedding date was fixed for 30th November. The family members had made complete preparations to welcome the wedding procession, but the news of the groom’s escape made the atmosphere sad.
The next day, when the bride’s family complained to the groom’s side, they distanced themselves from the matter. On Monday, efforts for reconciliation between the two sides started in the police station. Inspector Vinod Kumar said that a case has been registered against the groom Saroj in Kasimpur police station for eloping a minor. Investigation of the incident is ongoing and strict action will be taken against the accused.
