Zubair, son of Zaid of Mundali village Rachhoti, Meerut, has been sentenced to death by the Criminal Court of Mecca in Saudi Arabia in a drug smuggling case. Saudi Arabia’s Interior Ministry has asked Zaid to present his side in this matter. In the notice given to SSP Meerut

Zaid had gone to Saudi Arabia to work as a car driver. The family members say that they do not know how he got involved in drug trafficking. Family members say that Zaid had gone to Saudi Arabia in 2021 and in 2023 he was arrested for drug smuggling. Now the court there has sentenced him to death. According to the notice given by the SSP, he has been given a chance to present his views till January 15, 2025. The family members have said that they will present their views in the court.
First case till now in case of death sentence to Meerut youth Regarding the way Zaid has been given death sentence in Saudi Arabia, people say that this is the first case in Meerut. In this way, for the first time any youth from Meerut has received death sentence in another country. The family is not saying much about this. Police say that we have only asked for the report. Saudi Arabia has its own law. We can only give our report in this regard.
