DIG Kalanidhi Naithani took charge of IG Range post in Meerut late on Tuesday night. He said that curbing crime will be his first priority.

DIG Kalanidhi Naithani, resident of Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, is a 2010 batch IPS officer. His father Umesh Chandra Naithani has retired as a professor from Garhwal University. Mata is retired as principal of Inter College. He has been honored with the President’s Award. After studying B.Tech, Naithani did a Masters degree in Police Management from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
Naithani worked as an engineer for five years in the Government of India’s C-DAT i.e. Center for Development of Taximetrics in Bengaluru and Bhabha Atomic Research Center in Delhi. IPS was elected in 2010. Got my first posting in Saharanpur. Naithani’s wife Deepti Chandola is an IRS officer. Brother Nitin Naithani is a colonel in the army. Till now he has worked as SSP in Pilibhit, Bareilly, Kumbh Mela and Ghaziabad. After becoming DIG, he was posted in Jhansi range.
