Apple is facing a new lawsuit from one of its employees
Apple is one of the best places to work in the tech industry, or at least that’s what most people think it is. But a new report this week talks about a strong lawsuit against the company, accusing them of spying on their employees and even tracking their personal devices.
The lawsuit filed in the US says Apple has been illegally monitoring its workers and even tracking their iCloud accounts, which is a clear case of privacy breach.
Apple Spying On Employees?
The lawsuit, reported by Reuters, has been filed by Amar Bhakta, in the California state court this week. Bhakta is part of digital advertising for Apple, and claims the company mandates its employees to install software on their personal devices which helps in tracking their activities. He says Apple can even access their personal emails, health data and more private stuff.
That’s not all, the lawsuit claims Apple has put a tight leash on its employees speaking in public, and blocked them from talking in podcasts about their work and other culture. For a company that talks highly about user privacy and even mocks its rivals for their lack of focus towards privacy, these allegations are a clear eye opener.
Apple quoted in the report says the lawsuit lacks merit as its workers are given annual training about their right to speak on the working conditions at the company.
In addition to Bhakta, two more female employees have accused Apple earlier this year of underpaying female workers in its engineering, marketing and AppleCare divisions.
