A terrorist was killed during an ongoing encounter with security forces in the Harwan area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday.

One terrorist was killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Tuesday. The encounter in the Harwan area of Srinagar had been ongoing since Monday night.
According to IANS, officials on Monday evening confirmed the gunfight between security forces and terrorists in the upper mountain belt of Harwan.
“These firing exchanges started during a CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) launched by the security forces after specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area. The cordon around the area where terrorists are believed to be hiding has been tightened. The operation was resumed with the first light on Tuesday morning,” it quoted officials as saying.
In an X post, the Kashmir Zone Police stated, “Based on specific intelligence input, joint parties of SFs launched CASO in the upper reaches of Dachigam forest. Contact established. OP is in progress. Details shall follow.”
