Join the organization to help the disabled

To give strength to the disabled people who are victims of inferiority complex in the society, Sunil joined Dr. RR Mishra’s Dragshram Swayam Sevi Samiti in 1995 and started vocational training in different fields including computer education, sewing-embroidery, hawan material, teddy bear, incense sticks, etc. of. According to Sunil, till now his organization has given training to 3200 people, out of which more than 2800 disabled people are doing cottage industries.

According to Sunil, after taking training from his organization, disabled Deepu Singh is running a herbal soap factory in Naubasta Galla Mandi. In Kidwai Nagar, Deaf and Dumb is working to prepare three Capal Teddybears, along with this there are many such disabled people, who were neglected by the society, joined the organization and today are standing on their own.

Father said – know the society

It was further told that his father worked in an ordinance factory and mother as a private teacher. Sunil says that his parents never treated him less than his other three brothers. He said that he was in class five, when one day his father said that along with studies, go out and test the society, so that the society will recognize you.

Lifetime membership from USA organization

He told that during M.Com from Kanpur University in 1992, he won gold medal in insurance subject. After which he decided to make a career in this subject. Due to being disabled, his family members suggested him to find official work instead of running errands, but he did not agree and started working as an insurance agent. After working, he got the lifetime membership of USA’s Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).

License granted after 15 months of struggle

Sunil told that after good performance, when he was provided a car by the company, he applied for a license in Kanpur RTO in the year 1996, where he got information about the absence of license system for the disabled. After this he met the Transport Minister of the SP government, after which he felt disappointed.

After meeting the then Transport Commissioner Ramphal, after a long battle of about 15 months, Kanpur RTO approved his license. Sunil told that during that time, as a disabled person, his first four-wheeler license of the state was made.

The fight continues for the disabled

Sunil told that even today he is fighting to give rights to the disabled in the society. Told that in government and non-government offices, molded chairs should not be used for the disabled to sit, carpet should not be used on the floor in the meeting of the disabled, public toilets should be at different heights, color should be applied on changes in the level of the floor. Changes should be made, there should not be any kind of beautification in the railings on the stairs, there should be provision for side seating for the disabled in auditoriums and cinema halls, low height beds for the disabled in hotels. And solid mattresses should be used.
