A young man returning from the police station in Thakurganj area of Lucknow committed suicide by hanging himself from an elephant. Family members allege that the police had kept him in the police station for two days in connection with the purchase of a stolen mobile phone. Due to which he was quite disappointed.

Ranjit Kanojia, a resident of Thakurganj Harinagar, used to work as a labourer. Brother Ranjit told that he went for work on Friday and returned on Sunday. Looked quite worried. When the family members asked, he did not tell anything. After a lot of pressure, I told my mother that I had bought the mobile from a friend. The police caught him as soon as he got the SIM.
Kept with me for two days. He was interrogated and released. Mother was cooking food at home on Tuesday night. The family members had gone out to attend a wedding ceremony. Then he hanged himself with the help of a sheet in the net of the courtyard. He was immediately taken to the hospital. Where the doctor has declared him dead. Brother has demanded investigation.
