In Lucknow, when a teenage girl refused to marry, an angry young man set her father’s bike on fire. He was harassing the girl for the last several days. The family members have filed a case against the accused in the PGI police station on Wednesday.

The girl’s father, who lives in the PGI area, told that she has been ill since 2017. The family consists of wife and three daughters. The elder daughter works as a maid in the house. A young man living in the colony harasses the daughter while going to work.

The father told that the young man puts pressure on the minor daughter to marry. If he refuses, he threatens to pour acid and kill him. On Tuesday, he set fire to the bike parked outside the house. By the time the neighbors extinguished the fire by pouring water, the vehicle was completely burnt. Three bicycles parked nearby were also burnt.

The father told that even a week ago the young man had set fire to the window at the back of the house, due to which some belongings of the house were burnt. Complained to the young man’s family members, but they accepted their son’s mistake and promised to explain it to him.
Inspector PGI Ravi Shankar Tripathi said that the complaint has been received. Legal action will be taken after investigation.
