Sukhbir Singh Badal narrowly escaped unhurt after a man opened fire at him outside the Golden Temple in Amritsar today. Multiple videos on social media showed the moment of attack.

Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal escaped unhurt after a man opened fire at him outside the Golden Temple on Wednesday.
The attacker, identified as Narain Singh Chaura, has been a former member of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), one of the oldest Khalistani separatist groups.
Moments after he fired shots, he was overpowered by the security outside the temple. He was later arrested.
Videos widely shared on social media show the moment when Badal was attacked.

In another video, shot from another angle, Singh could be seen walking casually towards the Temple. He then takes out a gun and fires shots.
He was apprehended moments later.

Badal has been performing the duty of ‘sewadar‘ outside the Golden Temple since Tuesday.
He was sitting in a wheelchair at the time of the incident but escaped unhurt as the bullet hit a wall.
