Controversy started before the convocation ceremony. Controversy started before the convocation: Congressmen accused MP and Rahul Gandhi of ignoring them, program on 7th December – Amethi District News
Controversy has arisen before the first convocation ceremony of Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University located in Fursatganj in Amethi. Congressmen have alleged that the responsible officials of the university have accused Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and local MP Kishori Lal
,
Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University was established in Amethi by Rahul Gandhi in 2013 after passing it from the House. This university was the first aviation university in Asia. A few months ago, Kishorilal Sharma raised the issue of this institute in the Parliament, due to which progress was made in the institute and a new VC was also appointed. Now, the first convocation ceremony of the university will be held on December 7, which will be attended by Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu as the chief guest.
Congressmen say that the central government has a step-motherly attitude towards Amethi and the university authorities deliberately did not follow the protocol of Rahul Gandhi and Kishorilal Sharma in the convocation ceremony.
When MP’s office in-charge Brijesh Tiwari contacted the university authorities, he was told that the two leaders would not get a place on the stage, they could only sit in the first row. Congressmen called it insulting and condemnable and said that it is an insult to the people of Amethi.
In 2011, Rahul Gandhi had promised to build an aviation university in Amethi at the silver jubilee program of Indira Gandhi Udaan Academy, the foundation stone of which was laid in 2013. Congressmen say that the treatment meted out to the university so far proves that the policies of the Central Government are step-motherly towards Amethi.
