Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar, has joined the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation as a director. The 51-year-old cricketer, who holds the record for scoring the most runs in Tests and ODIs, took to X on Wednesday (December 4) to confirm the news of Sara’s appointment. Sara, who was born on October 12, 1997, holds a master’s degree in clinical and public health nutrition from University College London.

“Sara Tendulkar has joined the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation as Director. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition from University College London. As she embarks on this journey to empower India through sports, healthcare, and education, it serves as a reminder of how global learning can come full circle,” Tendulkar tweeted.

Tendulkar’s son Arjun is a professional cricketer. The 25-year-old represents Goa in domestic cricket, and like his father, Arjun also scored a century on his Ranji Trophy debut. Arjun, who is primarily a left-arm fast bowler, is associated with Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He made his IPL debut for the Mumbai-based franchise at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during the IPL 2023 match played against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Arjun was released by MI ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, but the Ambani-owned side signed him again for Rs 30 lakh in the mega auction, which was held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.

Arjun, who moved to Goa after not getting a chance to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy, has played a total of 17 First Class, 15 List A, and 24 T20s so far and has 37, 21, and 27 wickets to his name. With the bat, Arjun has hammered 532 runs in red-ball cricket and 62 and 119 runs in List A and T20 matches.

Arjun, who is part of Goa’s squad for the ongoing 2024 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, was dropped from the team’s playing XI for the second match in a row on Tuesday (December 3). In three matches played so far, Arjun has only managed to take one wicket and scored 21 runs with the bat.
