Due to illness, he could not go to the Gilat Bazaar Mosque, so he started offering Namaz there. When Nawab Tonk left Banaras, he gave the land to the King of Kashi. Later, the king of Kashi gave some part to Uday Pratap Singh of Bhinga royal family, so that the college could be opened.

However, Munawwar could not present any document to support his claim. Claimed that he has some documents, but they are written in Urdu and Persian, which are being translated into Hindi.

When resentment among the students started increasing due to increase in religious activities on campus, the connection was disconnected. People from the Muslim side went to the electricity department to get a new connection. But the department asked to submit documents related to the mosque. When the Muslim side could not give, the department refused to give the connection.

Mahendra Singh Sisodia family lives in the college campus itself. The Sisodia family has claimed in the court that a total of 20 acres of land including the post office, tomb and library in the college campus is theirs.

When the Principal of UP College was asked about this claim, he said – This land belonged to Gangeshwar Trust, it has been given to the college administration on a 99-year lease. On the other hand, the Sisodia family says that they had taken this land from the trust.
