Block level Rabi seminar and agricultural investment fair was organized on Thursday at Mehdaval, development block headquarters of Sant Kabir Nagar. This program organized by the Agriculture Department was inaugurated by Block Development Officer Rajesh Srivastava and Chief Pushpa Tripathi by lighting the lamp.

Experts gave information about farming and animal husbandry
In the seminar, experts from Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Horticulture Department gave information to the farmers on sowing of Rabi crops, maintaining fertility and treatment of crop diseases. ADO AG Ashok Kumar Mishra explained the importance of seed quality, pulses-oilseed cultivation, balanced use of fertilizers, irrigation and seed treatment.
Farmers were appealed to avail the benefits of Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme and Kisan Samman Nidhi. Besides, people were also encouraged to get a family ID made.
Information about new technology for animal farmers
The veterinary officer explained the benefits of increasing the chances of having a female baby in cattle up to 90% through advanced semen technology. He urged the cattle farmers to take maximum advantage of this technology.
Emphasis on crop insurance and progressive farming
Crop Insurance Department officials insisted on farmers getting their crops insured. Experts from IFFCO, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture departments shared solutions for innovative farming. Farmers were also informed about the cultivation of vegetables and treatment of their diseases.
Through this seminar and fair, farmers were given information about advanced agriculture and animal husbandry techniques. Farmers appreciated this initiative and called it a positive step towards making farming more profitable.
