Block level rural sports competition was organized under Uttar Pradesh Rural Sports League on Thursday at Swami Devanand Inter College, Mathlar, located in Lar block of Deoria. Players performed excellently in various categories in the competition.

District Youth Welfare Officer Puneet Kumar said that in the sub-junior 100 meter race (girls category), Shahjahan Khatoon stood first, while Jyoti Yadav stood second and Priyanka Kumari stood third. In the boys category, Umashankar Yadav stood first, Anubhav Kumar stood second and Hemant Kumar stood third.
In the 800 meter race (junior girls category), Priyanka Kumari won, Jyoti Yadav stood second and Anjali stood third. Meanwhile, in the 1500 meter race in the senior men’s category, Ankit Yadav stood first, Golu Kumar stood second and Ankit Prajapati stood third.
In the volleyball senior men’s category, the team of Garhwa Khas captured the title, while the team of Ukina remained the runner-up. In Kabaddi (sub junior girls category), Mathalar team became the winner and Khemadei team was declared the runner up.
Players got encouragement in the honor ceremony On the closing occasion, Regional Youth Welfare Officer Rajkamal and Santosh Yadav honored the winning players by giving them medals and certificates. During this, Principal Shatrughan Tiwari, former Principal Govind Kushwaha and sports lover Ranjit Kumar were also present.
Rural talents are getting a platform Through this event, players from rural areas are getting an opportunity to showcase their talent. Officials said that such programs will encourage the youth towards sports and they will bring glory to the district and state in future.
