Girish Yadav (52 years), resident of BBD Green City, Lucknow, also died in this accident. Girish Yadav was retired from the Army and was going to Delhi for three days with his son Devendra Yadav (27 years). Son Devendra was seriously injured in the accident. Girish and Devendra lived on the 13th floor of Sun Bridge Apartment in BBD Green City. Devendra’s mother has also not been informed about this incident. He is consoling his mother on the phone by telling her that he will reach Delhi.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep grief over the accident. He has given instructions to provide financial assistance of ₹ 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and ₹ 50,000 to the seriously injured.

The double decker bus was going from Lucknow to Delhi. The bus collided with a tanker pouring water on the divider near km 141 on the expressway. A total of three people from Lucknow died and 5 were injured in this accident. A total of eight died and 19 were injured in the Kannauj accident.
